VIS, an island in the central Dalmation
Achipelago; Area 90,3 sq km (length 17 km, width up to 8 km)
Situated opposite the mainland city of Split.
Population 4.338; the highest
peak Hum 587 m. The vast Komiza bay, with Sandy bottom, is
situated on the western coast of the island. From out the Island
the Italian coast is

Architects are realizing now the Masterplan for the below
mentioned projects. Investors have permission to dictate their
whishes.
Project Rogaci:
35.000 m2 along the sea shore, permission
for building Hotel, max. 3 floors, Restaurants, Apartments
and villa's. The Municipality is proposing a "Joint Venture".
Project Barjaska: 195.000 m2 including a small Marina and
natural beaches.
Permission for building Hotels, Apartments and Mediteranian
villa's.
Project
Kamenica: 85.000 m2 situated in a typical
Mediteranian vegetation, most suitable area for
homes for retired people.

Marina: The realisation of a Marina for 200 Yachts-Boats in

General information:
Daily voyage by Hydrofoil boat from Split to Vis is one and
a half hour. By Ferry boat 2 hours. Vis is situated 45 km from
the main land. From May till September are direct flights from
Amsterdam to Split. 2 hours flight time.
Economy is based on farming,
wine and vegetable growing,
fishing and fish processing, seafaring and in recent times
on tourism. The inhabitants grow grapes and fruit on the fertile
fields in the interior, while the island is primarily known for
carob and its wines. Fishing and wine production are the basis
of the economy of the place. Most people have heard of if not
tried about famous wines vugava and plavac mali.
The gratest advantage on the
island is its untouched preserved nature. The International
coorporation for the protection of the ambyent have included Vis
on the list of ten most preserved islands in Europe. |

summer an average temperture
of 25 degrees celcius.
The average water temperture
is 26 degrees celsius and it's
pleasant to swim till far in October. |
While thanks to its mild
mediterranean climate your staying in Komiza is pleasant also
during the winter months.
Once
a fisherman village, Komiža developed into a pretty picturesque
town. The coast of the island is indented and full of hidden
bays and beaches such as Gusarica, Nova Pošta or Velo žalo. Near
the island of Vis lies the island of Biševo, famous for its Blue
cave with illuminated bed – an ideal boat excursion destination.
